Thanks for posting these. Here's my list - not particularly obscure but some of you mayn't have heard all of them.

Jaco - Teen Town Improv Live in Italy

Infectious Grooves - Good Times Are Out to Get You

D'Angelo - Chicken Grease

Bowie - Secret Live of Arabia

Flying Lizards - Her Story

1. The Hearts Filthy Lesson
2. Up The Hill Backwards
3. John, I'm Only Dancing
4. Loving The Alien
5. Station To Station

Loving the Alien's a brilliant track. The man dusted it off for his last tour as well - I've got a couple of bootlegs with it on. Unfortunately it's a pretty boring, pared-down acoustic version though.

5 Bands I like that I don't think anybody else here does until I'm corrected

1. Redd Kross
2. Delicatessen
3. The Family Cat
4. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
5. Dr Feelgood

I reallt enjoyed that Red Kross compilation you uploaded. I've heard one Alex Harvey song which I didn't really like but, then again, that was years ago, so my opinion might be different now. Down By the Jetty by Dr Feelgood's a pretty cool album too. She Does It Right and Roxette are probably my favourite songs off of it.

Sgt. Rock (Is Going to Help Me)

Meccanik Dancing (Oh We Go!)
Making Plans For Nigel

Nobody ever mentions it when they talk about Low, at least in my experience. The whole album is brilliant but that's definitely my favorite song off of it.

It's quite simply 3 minutes of musical perfection, at least in my eyes anyway. I've listened to it so many times I know it basically note for note.

Nice top 5 there too. Mine would probably look like this (in no order);

Radios In Motion
Statues Of Liberty
Helicopter
Respectable Street
Burning With Optimism's Flames

And here's another top 5 from yours truly...

Top 5 stingiest artists/legal representatives regarding their songs being uploaded onto youtube;

1. Prince
2. Bob Dylan
3. Elvis Costello
4/5 - anyone else represented by the professional killjoys by the name of WMG

I almost made a "Top 5 Of the Spacey-Noise Era" but then I could only REALLY do the first two albums.

"Respectable Street" is a brilliant song.

Why would a drummer be the most important piece of a cover band?

Insane Guest 05-22-2010 09:25 AM

Vocalist should be at number one.

I dont know ...but seriously I guess it would actually depends on the individual musician that plays the part as a leader and the conductor for any certain band in particular as to who would play an important part.
As a bass player and lead vocalist myself I could verse a bias opinion by insisting on a good drummer that is the timing and heart & soul of the basic rythm section.
I tried not to give a biased opinion by giving the lead vocals second but..who am I to say.
There are just so many reasons for the importance of each position, drums bass, etc. I could go on & on...
I guess the most important thing for me is to simply keep it all in Fun and enjoy yourself and try not to make to serious.:)
