As far as other languages, I think not being able to understand what's being sung really detracts from the listening experience. It's like listening to an instrumental with gobbeldy g00k (why is g00k censored???) laced over the top. I can appreciate a good singer even if I can't appreciate the words s/he's speaking, but I still get annoyed when I have to interpret what the songs about based solely on the music.
