I know that's what CN stands for, but it's overplayed for a reason, a great song, a masterpiece really.

Calm down? I'm not getting angry.
I don't get the question mark at the end of your sentence.

Man, I'll never understand why people think a song getting lots of recognition somehow cheapens it. Saying "Comfortably Numb" isn't one of the best songs on The Wall because it's overplayed is exactly the same as saying you like band x because no one else has heard of them. It's stupid and I wish it would stop happening.

Anyway, Top 5 piano cuts in Steely Dan:
1. Do it Again
2. My Old School
3. Kid Chalemagne
4. Charlie Freak
5. I Got the News

Man that was tough. From 18 songs down to a Top 5. Could barely rank them.

EDIT: Oh, here's a fun one. Top 5 Terry Chambers era XTC drum lines:
1. Living Through Another Cuba
2. Millions
3. Senses Working Overtime
4. Meccanik Dancing (Oh We Go!)
5. Roads Girdle the Globe

From 10 this time and I'm much less sure.

"Comfortably Numb" isn't one of the best songs on The Wall because there are many better songs on The Wall.

Top Five of Jazz (limited to one recording per artist):

5 Jazz Composer's Orchestra - Jazz Composer's Orchestra
4 Pharoah Sanders - Karma
3 Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
2 Charles Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady
1 John Coltrane - Sun Ship

props for mentioning pharoah, he's criminally underrated on these boards.

How is that possible? His compositions are so enigmatic when compared to other jazz artists...

I'll have to include his name into every post I make from now on... Or something.
