there's absolutely no way in hell that Aerosmith would continue with that name without Stephen Tyler at this point. just consider the lawsuits involved to make a move like that happen, let alone the backlash from fans. |

What a depressed man he is... On a side note, what's The Misfits without Danzig? |

Oh c'mon. They had some great albums without him. Depends on what period. If it's the loss of Barrett, that's not something I weep over, he still got to put out 2 solo albums which featured a lot of input from Waters and Gilmour so I almost consider them unofficial Floyd albums. The departure of Barrett was vital to the band's evolution and they put out a lot of stuff that far exceeds anything they done under Barrett IMO, I'm more of a Waters and Gilmour fan personally. The Final Cut was a disaster and it was Waters' JC complex that really wrecked the band. I still think Gilmour can write songs on his own, I like Division Bell a lot, but it's not the same without Waters. Last edited by boo boo; 04-15-2010 at 09:31 PM. |

Eh, I don't think RHCP went into a decline with Frusciante at all, they had 3 great albums with him and one decent one.

Though when you think about it, there are other bands no one would have thought would carry on without their original front man...but did anyway. Never say never. I certainly hope they wouldn't, though. Most of the time such a move causes lots of . But anyway like you said, it's a PR scam and I'm pretty sure it was revealed as such. Can't be bothered to care enough to research it though.

Yeah I never understood why so many people thought losing Barrett was monumental. His mental collapse was important to the members themselves and it did have a musical effect, but it wasn't that drastic and I like the post-Barrett stuff more. That era's brilliant, but I love the stuff they did afterward even more.

And besides, without Barrett's departure we wouldn't have gotten The Madcap Laughs.
