How do you know the level of goodness that I may or may not rate the Doors?

I honestly don't know why the Doors are on that list. They're great.
Break On Through Hello, I Love You Light My Fire Roadhouse Blues LA Woman People Are Strange Riders On The Storm Touch Me Love Her Madly Love Me Two Times Loads of good songs... they've got more hits than many other bands. Stupid list. |

Piano was featured prominately in a lot of early rock n roll. A lot of Rolling Stones songs have piano too. Hell, even Black Sabbath have piano songs. Not all rock music is "rock n roll" though, some forms of rock do have classical influences, there's nothing wrong with that, rock music is a lot broader than just rock n roll, hard rock and songs about bum sex. Billy Joel might be a piano guy, but what he plays is still very rock n roll influenced, so I wouldn't say Collective Soul rock harder just because they use guitars. |

this may be true, but they also aren't as bad as a lot of people make them out to be, definitely not even close to being in the top 50 worst artists in music history. That's just a joke. I can see them being called "overrated" but the fact that they are being put in the same category as Insane Clown Posse is outrageous. The ridiculousness of this is truly beyond me.
However, even though the fact that The Doors are on this list ticks me off, I can easily remind myself that this is an article by the prestigious Blender magazine. A magazine that I actually thought went out of business years ago, and probably should have. I'll let them have their moment. Last edited by jacklovezhimself; 04-15-2010 at 08:42 PM. |
