Tom Waits - The Piano Has Been Drinking
This song is 3:39 of pure poetic excellence! The piano has been drinking my necktie is asleep and the combo went back to New York the jukebox has to take a leak and the carpet needs a haircut and the spotlight looks like a prison break cause the telephone's out of cigarettes and the balcony's on the make and the piano has been drinking the piano has been drinking... and the menus are all freezing and the lightman's blind in one eye and he can't see out of the other and the piano-tuner's got a hearing aid and he showed up with his mother and the piano has been drinking the piano has been drinking cause the bouncer is a Sumo wrestler cream puff casper milk toast and the owner is a mental midget with the I.Q. of a fencepost cause the piano has been drinking the piano has been drinking... and you can't find your waitress with a Geiger counter And she hates you and your friends and you just can't get served without her and the box-office is drooling and the bar stools are on fire and the newspapers were fooling and the ash-trays have retired the piano has been drinking the piano has been drinking The piano has been drinking not me, not me, not me, not me, not me |

Then there are times when I can't seem to understand at all
And yes It seems as though I'm going nowhere Really ****ing fast There are so many others, but that one came to mind first. See my signature for another favorite.

F**k it all and no regrets
I hit the lights on these dark sets I need a voice to let myself To let myself go free F**k it all and f**king no regrets I hit the lights on these dark sets Medallion noose, I hang myself St. Anger 'round my neck I don't like the song too much but it's nice to listen to when you are pissed off. |

May Elvis turn in his grave and Les Paul curse my dirty calloused fingers.
or I lost the confidence to right a song so I found three simple chords and held them together with my weak voice on an out of tune guitar my father gave to me. Both are from "What We Worked For" |

Now some of us are weak, and some endure
And some people live their lives, with a violence that's pure and clean But I saw a man cry once, down on his knees In the corner of a darkened cell, and his pain meant nothing to me But I was younger then, and young men never die When I walked out in the sun, I was strong, clear minded, and blind

I want something good to die for to make it beautiful to live-Go With the Flow by Queens of the Stoneage is one of my all time favorites
Im really digging the lyrics from Wake Up right now, "Children Wake Up, Hold Your Mistake Up, Before they turn summer into dust" I think hes saying if people dont start repenting God will come and destroy the earth leaving it to dust..and of course his screaming line "We're just a million little gods causi nrainstorms, turning every good thing to rust" I just did a cover of it if you wanna check out my youtube profile

Poison oak, some boyhood bravery
When the telephone was a tin can on a string And I fell asleep with you still talking to me You said you weren't afraid to die In Polaroids you were dressed in women's clothes Were you made ashamed? Why did you lock them in the drawer? And I don't think that I ever loved you more Than when you turned away When you slammed the door When you stole the car and drove towards Mexico And you wrote bad checks just to fill your arm I was young enough, I still believed in war Let the poets cry themselves to sleep And all their tearful words could turn back into steam But me, I'm a single cell on a serpent's tongue And there's a muddy field where a garden was And I'm glad you got away, but I'm still stuck out hear My clothes are soaking wet from your brother's tears And I never thought this life was possible You're the yellow bird that I've been waiting for The end of paralysis, I was a statuette Now I'm drunk as hell on a piano bench And when I press the keys, it all gets reversed The sound of loneliness makes me happier Poison Oak - Bright Eyes |
