you're dog was your only friend
you spent your life saving fixing it's broken leg
you loved it more than you're parents loved you
and then i ran it over

"The glass was raised, the fired rose
The fullness of the wine, the dim last toasting
While at port, adieu or die.

A choke of grief, heart-hardened I
Beyond belief a broken man too tough to cry.

Surf's up, aboard a tidal wave.
Come about hard and join the young and often spring you gave.
I heard the word,
Wonderful thing,
A children's song.
"

"Surf's Up" - The Beach Boys

Says it was good to be alive
And now he rides the comet's flame
And won't be coming back again
The Earth looks better from a star
That's right above from where you are
Holland 1945 - Neutral Milk Hotel (The entire song is great, this is just my favorite excerpt)

Somebody once said remove specifics and convert to ambiguities because definition is
A myth a mirage a speculation a shaky medium made weaker by personal scales of pain

Caldo - School of Seven Bells

And sooo many more.

it'll seem more like a song, and less like it's math, if you pull on my hair & bite me like that.
- bright eyes, pull my hair.

i can think of more "meaningful" lyrics but this one gives me goosebumps each & every time, and i'm not even a big bright eyes fan at all : )
