Yeah when those people own media narratives. I mean your entire argument assumes that pop culture and the people who own it are exactly the same now as when you were a kid. Do you think capitalism hadnt't changed since then?

I thought this was going to be some lame rant about the youth of today and it wasn't. Admittedly I never really watched Beato, but from some of his video titles I assumed he's just some Chula type nostalgia guy obsessed with boring yesteryear ****.

Sometimes he does get annoying or boring, but in a general matter his videos are highly educational and interesting |

How did Rick Beato even know that Lenny Kravitz song from the late 90s is auto-tuned?
I like that song don't get me wrong but I didn't know Lenny Kravitz vocals were auto-tuned, since aside from the Cher song, I usually associate auto-tune with the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, and Wikipedia did not even mentioned about that song being auto-tuned. Ever since that Cher song autotune became massively popular, and it’s not weird that Kravitz might’ve used it. If you use autotune correctly the standard listener wouldn’t even know it’s there. The autotune you’re thinking of is the form used by people with no skill nor taste who use it for everything now. If you train your ear enough you’re able to tell what parts of a recording are natural and what have been enhanced. |

It's not true in the popular sense though
In the glorious days amazing music could've been found on the "top selling singles charts" or the "best selling albums charts" and so on. Nowadays, in order to find great/amazing music you need to look deep into the underground of sorts. The pop charts changed from The Beatles to Katy Perry. So while in the 60s/70s you could find mesmerising music in both the charts and the underground, nowadays, there's only one of these options left. And that's what people "bitch about" |
