They should stop making albums but I want them to tour until they die.

AC/DC .. They shouldn't be allowed to wear these mini-shorts, being +55!

I didn't say they should have ended with Gabriel.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

my god you're so right. My friend gave me the deluxe edition of their newest album *shudder* and the liner notes are packed with hideous photos of Angus Young's hairy legs.

Oasis would never have released Don't Belive the Truth if they'd stopped after two albums, which I think's a fantastic album, so I can't say I agree with that one. Road To Rouen is one of my favourite albums, so I disagree about Supergrass too.

U2 I can vouch for though. The Stones should've called it a day after they released Tattoo You as well. Another one that springs to mind are the Flying Burrito Brothers, and their thinking they could keep going without Gram Parsons or Chris Hillman.

they go into the Alice in Chains list of bands that should not have gotten back together, how many times now? 3?

their first 3 albums (up to the first split) got progressively better. unlike most 90s bands their debut was their weakest point. splitting up obliterated what they had going and they've never been the same since.

the next 2 albums following the first reunion were crap. no.4 was a rehash of 'core' which was quite possibly the most generic 'grunge' record of the early 90s, and shangri-la-di-da was just awful.

a 60s style album might be decent, but if their history is any indication it's going to sound like a total rehash of Tiny Music (songs for the Vatican gift shop).

Oasis are one of my favourite bands, but they have released a shower of shit. If they had called it quits just before Standing on The Shoulder Of Giants, they would've released 2 brilliant albums, 1 average one. And would actually have a lot more respect for what they did.

U2 should have called it quits after Atchung Baby.
'Tallica after the black album.
I suppose The Cure, but not too bothered about whether they still make records, they aren't very good but hey.

Hmm, lets see...

The Jesus and Mary Chain should have quit after Darklands.
The Cure should have quite after Pornography (I never cared for their poppier incarnation)
Led Zeppelin should have quite after Physical Graffiti
The Who should have quit after Who's Next
The Kinks should have quit after Muswell Hillbillies
The Strokes should have quit after Is This It
Oasis should have quit after (What's the Story) Morning Glory
The Clash should have quit after Combat Rock

That was all I could think of ATM.
