I've decided I'm just going to rip all my new cds to flash drive keyrings, that way I can keep it all in my pocket.

You can get a 16GB Cruzer for £25, more than enough to keep 3 years worth of CD purchases on.

iTunes says it has 27,606 songs on it, mostly ripped from a little over 2,000 CDs. I also still have 400 to 500 albums on vinyl and about 150 45s. The ipod currently has 23,950 songs on it.

Seems like a lot of albums by relatively few artists. I make it it averages out at 6 albums per artist.

i use the term "albums" loosely. i tend to also collect EPs and Singles for artists i really like, and those are included in that count.

I don't even wanna say how many songs I have...it's so embarressing, almost disgraceful...my main reason for coming to this site was to build on it =P

Geez, I have no idea how many songs my collection would house..I just don't wanna go there numbers-wise..lol.

But I would say for a pretty close estimate:
vinyl - 120 albums
cassettes - 315 give or take around 10
cds - 5,000
computer/digital - around 200 gigs..

..and of course, I'm always feeling like I just don't HAVE anything to listen to..lol!

After a huge clean up just now of stuff I don't listen to anymore;

671 artists (no dupes), 40.4 days, 83.44GB, that's somewhere between 16,000-16,500 songs.

Not sure on # of albums and such I actually own, but nowhere near enough. Once I get a job, this will go up quickly.

I don't have my entire physical collection on my computer in digital format so I have no real way of telling, but I think I have somewhere between 5,000 and 6,000 songs.

I never keep full albums on my computer though. I'd rather use that harddrive space for movies and other things so I only keep the songs I actually enjoy on there.

6GB. Only because I wiped my computer clean and decided to start fresh when looking for music. At one time, I had up to 50GB at the most.
