I think the Monks should be voted on again. I also think the Fugs, Xiu Xiu, John Cage, and Tchaikovsky should be considered. Just a few ideas... I have more.

My last suggestion is that of The Beta Band. They created such a unique sound between trip-hop, folk, and electronic music. While they may not be very well-known, you'd be surprised at the huge cult following these guys have accumulated over the years. Their compilation album, The Three EPs, is in Q's top 100 best British albums list, and their studio album, Hot Shots II, is number 118 on Pitchfork Media's list of top 200 albums of the 2000s. Here are two songs that can exemplify their range of music, but there ARE more.
