And on with the show...next up:

Nominated by xEMGx

Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden: a great band that have changed metal (for the better) and have inspired many other bands. Plus they have one of best mascots in music history.

Bands they've influenced include A7X, Trivium, Sum 41, 3 Inches Of Blood, Bullet For My Valentine, Dream Theater, Anthrax, and many many more.

Music in tribute of Iron Maiden - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Massive list of tributes for Iron Maiden.

From their first song on their debut self titled album.
Also on their Soundhouse Tapes.

From a song from their album The Number of The Beast, one of the greatest albums IMO.
Often named one of the best Metal songs.

Those are some godawful bands right there. If it's true what you say about IM's influence on them then I almost want to vote 'no'.
But I can't because their albums through 1988 were such an important part of my life. Well, Somewhere in Time and 7th Son are pretty bad but I did like them as a kid and I can still easily listen to all of the previous albums. I can't say that I've even heard any of their music after that but I hope they didn't turn out as bad as, say Avenged Sevenfold. That would be such a sad ending for the once-great Iron Maiden..

Yes

Because of this, a definite NO from me.
