That would be a yesum. For being one of the few hip-hop groups actually worth listening to. They were also the best.

Well regardless of my vote, I'm pretty sure these guys will get nominated.

Well when you think about it, you should vote according to your musical tastes (at least somewhat). Take Britney Spears for instance: she was influential to alot of that mindless pop music that oh so many people seem to adore. But I think most people around here would agree that she's unbearable to listen to. Just because she was influential doesn't make her good. Now I realize that Public Enemy was/is far far far more influential to music, but the basic principal still stands. I don't like Britney Spears or any of the music she spawned (whether it was/is culturally important or not), so I would vote 'no' if she were on the ballot. I don't like Public Enemy or any of that rap/hip-hop stuff out there, so I voted 'no' for them.

That's a ridiculous comparison for several reasons:
1. This is the MB HOF. Nobody on MB likes Britney Spears.
2. You know nothing about the band or the genre. If you'd listened to most of their discography with a decent knowledge of Hip Hop to compare it to that would be alright. But you don't.
3. PE is not only influential they're groundbreaking. Britney Spears...

Ok maybe the comparison was outlandish, but my point still stands. PE spawned so much music that I can't stand, so why would I want to induct them for it?

I give up...You know nothing about Hip Hop, don't judge a band because you dislike their genre.

Being a huge fan of hip-hop. I still don't enjoy the music, because a lot of it missing the elements that make hip-hop/rap good to me. The lyrics are far less groundbreaking then you seem to say, the beats were passable, and though I agree with the cultural/socialoagical influence, I just think they fail musically.

1. I wasn't talking to you.
2. Why? I've given my reasons for why they were groundbreaking, now it's your turn.
