"In The Court of the Crimson King" is SO ****ING GOOD.

One of the VERY few prog bands out there that don't bore me, and unlike alot of prog bands the lyrics aren't distractingly awful. ANd that entire first album is amazing.

If you listen to good music than you won't have to get into many arguments...

I've only noticed it in this thread so far.

Best advice I can give any new members, take the time to get to a know a few people here first and don't jump into subjective arguments until people know you a little better and have a feel for where you're coming from.
I see where you're coming from, but I think in the long run the community would benefit from letting "newbies" participate in forum events such as this one, as it strengthens the feelings of welcome as well as add new flavours of musical interest to the mix. But that's just my opinion.

What's the point of having a discussion board if everyone agrees about everything?

Yes are the first artist not to be nominated into the Hall of Fame, doesn't mean that they can't ever get in though so maybe one day in the future?

Neeeext from Proggyman

King Crimson

While Pink Floyd is certainly the most popular Prog band, King Crimson is just as certainly the most popular band with Progheads. They're also arguably the most innovative band of the modern rock era, consistently reinventing themselves with just one constant member, but never settling for the current trend, never sacrificing artistic integrity for a more popular LP. Not to mention they've had more incredibly talented musicians than any other Rock band I know of. Robert Fripp is one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Bruford one of the greatest drummers. They're very popular here and certainly deserve a shot at the hall of fame.

Well it's a yes for King Crimson from me. I'm still delving into their discography but really enjoying what i'm hearing. I have One More Red Nightmare on right now and it might be my favourite song of theirs, in fact Red is just brilliant for the most part. I'm not a proggy by any means but King Crimson are very easy to like, just listen to 21st Century Schizoid Man, an awesome amount of strutter and heaviness for one song.
Very good stuff.

Same goes for me. Progressive rock isn't my favourite genre (though I don't dislike it), but King Crimson is fantastic.

KC are arguably the best prog band so a definite yes. Plus they influenced bands that weren't even in their genre, such as Nirvana (who had TONS of influence on bands, though some sucked XD.)

I'm not gonna lie, I can't stand half of Fripp's stuff, but King Crimson completely defined a revolution in music. And they had some fantastic, seminal albums. Lizard, Red, In The Wake of Poseidon are all great.

So if we vote no on this Boo Boo is for sure taking the blue pill?

Seriously though, this is an easy yes for me, I'll be adding my vote fashionably late.

King Crimson meets all the criteria (for my sans personal bias hall of fame standards). Critical acclaim, hardcore following of fans, leaders of a genre, longevity and the ability to never get stale despite, solid and consistent record sales and all this while staying comfortably on the edge of the mainstream.

It would be crazy in KC went in on the first HOF ballot and Pink Floyd did not.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.

I know they are probably really good (based on what everyone says), and someone who's name eludes me uploaded their first album. I probably would vote yes, but I won't vote at all because I haven't heard any.
