Your reasons probably go without saying... but it is a general policy to let everyone know why you voted.

just sayin.

Yes - beacause I love him.

A lot more than David Bowie.

It does seem weird to have a comedian in the HoF but at least Hicks did play music - and recorded comedy albums with his own guitar accompaniment.

David Bowie didn't play music?

Anyway, I voted no. This is a hall of fame for music. Bill Hicks is certainly a great comedian, but it doesn't make sense for him to be in this thread.

At the very least it's something different that we've never done before.

I'm thinking in the future, we should keep this strictly as musicians/bands only. I'd debated about it before posting it, but after seeing some of the feedback I have to agree that this should be kept to music. Even though Bill Hicks is something of a musician one could say, he's mostly known for comedy.

Having said that, had he been voted into eligibility I'd have put him through. But I think the fact that he wasn't says something. Not about his talent, but about how we should keep this a strictly music hall of fame.

But thanks for nominating him Conan. You know I always like getting nominations from you!

The next nomination will be up soon everyone!

Nominated by james44754

Belle And Sebastian

Belle And Sebastian were formed in 1996 and went on to become arguably the best Twee band. With seven great albums under thier belt and a new one out this year they are a band that just keep on releasing solid stuff. They have influenced hundreds of indie bands over the past few years and are definetly a band that will keep on influencing and will be remembered fondly in twenty years time. Another great thing about them is that thier easy to get into and i've persuaded some very small minded friends to listen. Great band and they always put me in a good mood. Selection of best songs, this is hard:

^Tigermilk

^If Your Feeling Sinister

^The Boy With The Arab Strap

^Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant

^Storytelling

^Dear Catastrophe Waitress

^ The Life Pursuit

So guys get voting it needs to be done!
