Lol, that wasn't aimed specifically at you FaSho, just generally to the people who have moaned about past nominations etc.

Still, it's a mystery why MB has censored the word SexyBeast

I thought that this would be based on how important the band is considered to be and the actual quality of their music. Whatever.
About how many regular users are on here. Sure there may be thousands who have signed up but the core of regulars is quite smaller.

Okay, fine. The think their music is awful, but they are important. That doesn't warrant a yes vote from me - everybody has their own reasons and that's why they share them.

Yes and I now understand that as I've mentioned. The question should be "Do you like the band 'x'?"

But somebody might vote based on how influential or important they are. It's up to them.

xEMGx I think one of the reason that they're not doing well is because you're constantly getting in people's faces about how they vote.

You're not exactly doing yourself any favours by acting like a rabid fanboy attacking anyone who dares oppose them.

People have different reasons for voting the way they do. You might not like some of the reasons why people vote no but it's their vote and it's their choice.

Just chill out a bit & let people have their say.

Yeah, I will back off. The only reason that I got kind of mad was because people were voting on the bands I listed that were inspired by them. My mistake. But whatever, I'll chill out, vote your way.

Absolutely, if you vote against Iron Maiden, I probably hate you as a person.

Still, better than 90% of the crap that everyone here talks about.

All that typing that goes into your whining could be put into a nomination from yourselves about an artist you actually like, as far as I'm aware Lady GaGa and Katy Perry and non of the mediocre indie bands have been nominated yet, so pull your fingers out, wash them, and get typing.
Who the hell are you and how do you have so many posts?

It's hard for posts this obnoxious to fly under my radar.

Anyway, I struggled a bit on this nomination since, personally, I've never liked Iron Maiden. When I was growing up, my cousin was a huge fan of them and as a kid I used to love looking at the Maiden posters he had plastered all over his bedroom. I always imagined they would sound super-scary and edgy. When I finally heard what they sounded like in junior high I remember being sorely disappointed by how hokey they were musically. I've given them numerous chances over the years in the hopes that they'd click with me but to no avail.

That said, as fan of metal in general, I recognize how influential they were, and for that reason I do think they belong in the hall of fame. So I voted yes, even though I'm still a bit jaded by the infamous MB Chuck Berry catastrophe.
