When did the Hall of Fame become a joke?
Nothing against Iron Maiden, just how I've noticed the decline of this for a good while. I like Maiden a good bit actually. What I'm getting at is that it seems like no one even cares about this anymore, when this really is the thread to care about. If an artist gets in, because it was nominated by a member I've never heard of, and then 6 or so people decide to vote yes, is it really reflecting the taste of MB anymore?

When people started voting purely on whether they like the artist or not...or whether they had heard of them. (Day one)

Hey guys, how about actually taking a listen and not judge the other bands.

Oh, so you expect to know all the thousands of people on Music Banter, and expect them all to vote. Yeah that makes sense.

its because most of the noms lately have been fairly obscure.

The door is open you guys. If you don't like the quality of nominees that are being suggested, I'd more than welcome some contributions. It's obvious many people enjoy the Hall of Fame and look forward to see who's nominated next. You guys can help by putting forward some of your own nominations...it doesn't have to be a long dissertation, just why you think a particular band should get props in the Hall of Fame. Youtube vids always help.

And I vote yes for Iron Maiden.

I voted yes despite not listening to them much or caring for them a great deal.

Still, better than 90% of the crap that everyone here talks about.

All that typing that goes into your whining could be put into a nomination from yourselves about an artist you actually like, as far as I'm aware Lady GaGa and Katy Perry and non of the mediocre indie bands have been nominated yet, so pull your fingers out, wash them, and get typing.

it's a yes from me. they've helped to spawn a whole new dimension in heavy metal, and in all honesty i don't find too much of a problem with the bands who take influence from them, in fact i actually quite like some of those groups.

There's two reasons I like you: 1. You like Arrested Development 2. You're a total ******* all the time. At no point did I complain about the nominations, I was whining about the process in general. Though now that it's been put out there, the last few noms have been sub-par. Not because they're bad, but because they're not artists that get talked about often on MB. I know if I nominate something, I'll get this quoted and thrown back in face, but **** it. Might as well do something productive on this site.
