Wow... why is no one talking about Bad Brains? They're ****ing fantastic, the band that got me into hardcore punk altogether. They are also my favorite reggae band. I know they aren't truly reggae, but I just can't take much of it in one dose. Bad Brains on the other hand... Plus, HRs a beast, how can you not vote him in?
Now, let's get a knew one because this is the first post in here in 5 days... |

They certainly don't mix their reggae with hardcore punk, metal or any of the other genres they perform. Plus they've got an all reggae album out. I'd say they're truly reggae... but I suppose it could depend on how you look at it.

Well as you can tell i disappeared off the earth. I'm back right now though, Bad Brains are through so lets have one from Lateralus
Tool Tool are generally described as a style-transcending act of progressive rock and art rock. One of the unique things about Tool is the philosophically profound and often mathematical way they go about music - writing songs entirely in Fibonacci sequences, creating puzzles for their listeners like rearranging track numbers to create a flowing together of songs, and using odd time signatures and other complex musical technicalities. They also aim to incorporate visual arts, primarily created by guitarist Adam Jones, into their music. Their live shows consist of unorthodox stage settings that draw attention away from the band and onto their audience – they seek to create a musical atmosphere that includes their listeners and promotes thought. Tool have consistently performed well on charts world-wide, and have sold an estimated 9.25 million records in the US alone, as well as inspiring many fans such as long time King Crimson member Robert Fripp and renowned artist Alex Grey. They have won Best Metal Performance in 1998 and 2002, Best Recording Package in 2007, and have been consistently nominated for awards such as Best Music Video and Best Hard Rock Performance. |

I'd vote for them to be in. I'm not really into some of their earlier stuff like I used to be, but there latest material has been pretty interesting and more elboarate.
They'll get a Yes from me.

I voted no, however I'm starting to think that decision may have been a little premature. While I have to agree with Brennen, their earlier stuff was pretty hit or miss, but Aenima was a pretty solid album. They're one of the few alternative metal bands that can be discussed about by fans of underground metal and mainstream metal so the fact that they've bridged that gap is pretty admirable.

I'll vote yes. I'm no fan by any means, but I can respect honest talent and skill when I see/hear it.
