It's a tough one. I don't like him really, only a handful of his stuff, but I'm voting yes because he is an important artist and his effect on the music world cannot be denied.

Big yes, I love Neil Young, amazing songwriter, singer and guitarist and a lot more diverse than people give him credit for.

Big yes from me. He's one of my favourite singer/songwriters of all time and in terms of influence he definatly deserves it. He's such a great songwriter and he makes it look so easy and natural, yet many people have tried and failed to match him.

Yes, Neil Young is a very good artist with a very extensive catalouge of great music. To deny him would be wrong in every sense.

I agree with everything posted above and I'd also submit he deserves credit for his prolific nature and versatility working with or forming such acts as CSNY, America and Buffalo Springfield all while continuing a still successful solo career.

undecided on this one.
a lot of my favorite artists have cited him as an influence from time to time but i rarely see the need to actually listen to his music. to me he comes off as little more than yet another lingering fart in the windswept aberration of dad rock. we'll see though, i've been able to see whats so great about bands with much less to say.
