I would love to put Paul Weller's name forward but theres still to be a thread dedicated to him on this forum, which I plan on doing soon.
As for Sigur Ros, after trolling your last fm Kenneth, I think I have some stuff pending.

I feel this band should be recognised in the MusicBanter hall of fame for uniting so many different people, tastes & genres out of sheer hatred.
Nobody has done more to unite music fans across the world and they have done this by turning their backs on talent , songwriting ability and a sheer disregard of any sort of critical acclaim.

Weither or not they should get in really depends on the kind of criteria being used.

Obviously it's a big FUCK NO when it comes to personal preference.

But impact and importance? I think you have a valid point, has any other band brought so many people together like they have?
