Hmmm im afraid i have to say no on this one. I don't think they're been around long enough for Hall Of Fame status. Even though they've released a string of great albums so far i think they still need to prove themselves a bit more. They're not legends just yet.

no, they're really overrated for being "one of the most super creative and innovative" bands of today. if you like nonsensical proto-jamming for about 4 hours then fine, but i don't think two good albums qualify them for hall of fame status.

Beck? Out of potential people to say that Tom Waits has influenced that's a strange choice. What about Sparklehorse or Modest Mouse or Man Man? What about basically every quirky roots-based indie band of the past decade or so?

Bands can be influential without having that influence being directly related to sound. Radiohead and Tom Waits, for example, have influenced a number of musician's sound but also they are sort of an inspiration for musician's to take more risks, and an influence to any band that has had a lot of changes in their sound throughout their discography. To say that Tom Waits and Radiohead haven't influenced a lot of musicians is crazy talk.
