It’s about time i did a nomination. No offense to the Dylans, Beatles and Pink Floyds being nominated here but its all a bit safe. What I embrace about Musicbanter is bands being celebrated that probably don’t get the recognition they deserve. I could have nominated my favourite band but around their time was another band in America who had even more of an influence over my music taste. I give you...
fudge yeah! I mean just look at them. And then listen to the sound that came out of their skinny whiteboy bodies. I f*cking love the lyrics too. Big yes from me, even though I only have the one album. L Dopa awrite??

This kerosene track is fairly amazing. I'll give them a few more tracks to see what their made of but if this continues they'll have my vote.

You could do something about it.

I'll hold off voting now, I definitely like Atomizer more than SAF, but I think Albini's responsible for better projects. Shellac is pretty damn good, dunno if they were as influential as Big Black.

I'm torn. On the one hand I really like Big Black and think they were pretty influential, but on the other hand if a band like PiL didn't make the cut for the MB hall of fame I don't see how the case can really be made for Big Black.

I agree a little with this. I am a fan of Big Black a lot but I feel there are a couple of other U.S guitar bands that were more influential such as Dinosaur Jr, The Pixies etc Sorry it's a no from me. I think that albini's production is more influential than their actual music.

Gentleman. The criteria is ours alone. And by our measurement alone should bands be judged. No prerequisite is too good, or bad for judging these acts.

If you're against allowing a band in because you don't like what they stood for, then so be it. This Hall of Fame (i assume this was PMO's intention) belong to MusicBanter, and by that marker, we ought to do what MB, namely us, thinks should go.

I'm more than satisfied in voting against Pink Floyd but for Big Black. I would be greatly disappointed if we ended up drafting off the lead of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

I presume that's what we were doing? A nomination is proffered and we say yay or nay. You said nay to Pink Floyd. I say nay to Big Black.
