I love all of their videos
To me, Hi-tek makes this album enjoyable to me. The beats are pretty infectious.

Well first things first. The album that i have only has 11 tracks so some of those listed, I haven't even heard before. I have the re-release version from CherryTree records. My favorite tracks have to be Enter the Ninja, Evil Boy, Rich Bitch, Beat Boy and She Makes Me a Killer.
Enter the Ninja attracted me to this group in the first place, I heard the single and was curious to hear more. The voice of Yo-Landi Vi$$er was what I found interesting with her tiny high pitched voice. Evil Boy's beat which I later found out that DJ Hi-tek was part of the group and contributed to it made me totally fall in love with this quirky group from south africa. Rich Bitch has Yo-Landi taking over the lead for the track , I can't help but love her voice so having her do the whole song by herself was pretty great. The way that Beat Boy starts with Ninja rapping over some beatboxing is classic then the beat kicks in about 20 seconds later with some driving bass. At times during this 8min track I do find Ninja's verses to be lackluster and unappealing but the beat keeps my attention for the majority of the song. She Makes Me a Killer, I really love this song because I can relate to the chorus somewhat. HOW CAN A ANGEL BREAK MY HEART? LIFE'S HARD! I'M JUST TRYING TO PLAY MY PART BUT SHE KEEPS PUSHING ME, PUSHING ME, PUSHING ME, PUSHING ME that part specifically. A WOMAN IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN A LOADED PISTOL THEY PROMISE YOU HEAVEN, GIVE YOU HELL! MY LITTLE BABY IS DRIVING ME CRAZY! this part also reminds me of how much of a headache some girls can be and how they can drive you crazy.

Submitted by Aurora (aka Kayleigh)...
Tiga - Sexor Sexor (2006) is the debut album by Montreal born house musician Tiga. In 2007 the album won a Juno award for Dance Recording of the Year. Feel free to ask AwwSugar or myself if you'd like a link to the album. |

I haven't had much experience with House/Dance music, but I always find these albums to be quite repetitive. That said, it was a better album than the only other house/dance album I can think of off the top of my head (BT's These Hopeful Machines). Apparently this won a Juno. Neat. Thought Good as Gold was the best track.

As far as club-type music goes, I dug how this album had more of an 'open', 'beachy' feel to it. Mostly a positive/fun vibe to it. The best track was probably 'Far From Home', a song a heard before getting the album. The 'Burnin' Down the House' cover was decent but nothing really innovative, it fit in with the album nicely though. The intro was amusing, I had a chuckle . I'll be keeping the album around.
