I second other people's recommendations of Arcade Fire's Funeral. I also think you should check out Being There by Wilco. Though it has lots of country influence, so if that's not your bag maybe you could check out Summerteeth, a more poppy and experimental album.

And S, you can recommend anything you want. [= I have a few more after Flaming Lips but I'm sure I'll review yours if it's fitting. |

Wilco I actually have on my Zune. I don't know what song it is or what comp got it there, but they're apparently in with bands I already listen to. =P I have been hearing a lot about them, though, so I'll listen to some more. |

The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin Let's be honest, I was unbelieveably nervous to review this album. |

Bump. Because I'm going to review the Massive Attack album again.
With a more open mind. And maybe the new one as well. I need to go through the recommendations again. |

Ha, the low bass vocals was actually my favorite part of The Gash, it's so weird.
Anyway, if you like Coheed and Cambria then maaaaaaaaaybe there's some prog I can get you into. Have you heard anything from Porcupine Tree? That's a great accessible band to start with. But since the idea of this thread is to really expand your musical horizons, if you want to skip to the really hardcore sh*t, I can hook you up with that too. |
