Justice - Cross
(For my Kayleigh)

Why is the beginning so familiar?
OH MY GOD. THIS SONG IS BY JUSTICE?!
The first song on this album, Genesis, is amazing. It's the song we'd play at night while we were loading the pit truck at marching band.
We have a video and everything hahaha. I'm so excited. xD
I like that I hardly noticed the change between the songs.

I'm definitely finding myself rocking my head frm side to side, hahaha.
The music is catchy. Not too much to handle.
I like that I can listen to it in almost any setting.
It can be something to listen to while I'm calm or something to blast in the car with or something to dance too.

I never really liked D.A.N.C.E. I've heard it a few times cause a lot of my friends like this album, heh.

I'm surprised, but I liked the track with Uffie after the second time. I first heard it in the Ke$ha thread and I wasn't too fond of it.
I heard it this time, and now I'm pretty sure I want to hear it again. =P

The beginning of Stress is too much for me, so I had to skip it. xD
I don't like repeated sounds like that building up. But I kept listening to it and I felt like I was in a car wash or something. xD

Overall, I really enjoyed the album. Due to the successful download, I can now listen to it at my leisure.

Remember to hit me up for one of these when you're interested. The bolded ones might break the ice a bit more but any choice is a good choice, IMO. Good playing on that cover btw.

Actually, if you have any of the links, I'd love to listen to another from your list.
I loved the Modest Mouse but there is only one working link for that, that I know of, and it needs a password.

 I'm glad you liked my cover!

Before I went to Uni I was really closwed minded about other genres of music.

Although not as bad as some I stuck bery much to the Alternative Genre whether it be Metal, Indie classic rock whatever really, as long as it was white men with guitars bass and a drum kit.

Then one of my friends gave me some of the best advice ive ever had and to this day I still quote this guy to people, "All music is there to be enjoyed so why would you wanna restrict yourself"

Pretty simple really but absolutely spot on all music appeals to a certain people and therefore it could appeal to you gievn half the chance, whats the worse that could happen, you might not like it. On the other hand you could discover something mindblowing. All music's a journey and that one thing could take you in a completely different directions.

Now I listen to Reggae, Hip Hop, blues, jazz, soul, Dnb, Dustep, Trance, Dub and anything else you might think of. There really is good artists in almost every genre just waitng to be found.

Stress being the only track on that album that actually impressed me, my suggestion for you would be, to just try to listen to that track. As you are describing a lot of the music out there as "too much for you", I think it's time you maybe try to listen to them, instead of avoiding them. I think this alone, will help you immensely in your discovery.

i would bold a flaming lips album for sure...but you really want to start her with at war with the mystics? yoshimi i think gives a better picture of the lips...it is definitely their masterpiece. it was that album that inspired me to get into their early nineties stuff...transmissions, hit to death, clouds taste metallic.

have you managed to listen to zaireeka? i managed to find a stereo mixdown just because i don't think i will ever have the opportunity to play all 4 cds at once...and i must say it is a brilliant album.

Cant say im mad on that whole electro scene to be honest but for me the standout track is definately water's of Nazareth. Its just pure filth.

That's very true.
Maybe I use "too much" too much.
I think with that track I was just overwhelmed with everything going on.
I will listen to it again, though.

I've only listened to the one Flaming Lips album, all though I own them all. I listened to Soft Bulletin or something while camping once with my sister but it was more of background music and I only spun it once so it didn't get a fair chance. From what I've heard At War With The Mystics is their pop album, so I think it would be fitting to put it on a list meant to introduce someone into more bands. I was hoping with many of these artists that she would like, and then go explore their other stuff and give it the light of day- maybe even love it.

Awwsugar, definitely I will get you a link. Do you want me to pick which album I give you the link to? If not just send a PM with the name of it and I should be able to get it to you lickity splickity.
