This seems to be a common complaint among people.... I really didn't find it that bad. Maybe a little annoying but definitely not earning the song a spot at worst Beatles song.

Their post-Help! work needs to be held to a higher standard. In 1970 they were no longer the young and inexperienced band that made the lackluster "With the Beatles".

Not to mention that their earlier material is bad for completely different reasons than The Long and Winding Road.

Paul agrees with you.

As to other user: perhaps. I always thought Michelle was an undeserving classic. Now that I think about it though, you're right. I would prefer to listen to any track off Rubber Soul over The Long & Winding Road.

So Paul McCartney just so happen to use a cliche, what's the big deal, about 99.9% of all hits songs are built on cliches especially in the chorus. Whatever he did it works and the lyrics flow nicely. It is sad and meloncholic song that speaks to peoples hearts and that what makes it a good song, it's something that people can identify with on a personal (emotional) level.

Wether or not a person like the cover songs The Beatles did is a matter of opinion, however imo The Beatles never did a bad cover song.
I think you misunderstood me. I meant that it was bubblegm pop with influences of Chuck Berry and Carl Perkins also being heard.
