i dont think the misfits or the casualties are important to rock n roll history, good bands, but i dont see how they would be important (the others on the other hand i can see especially Crass, Sex Pistols, Clash, Elvis, The Doors, and the Beatles)
How about Lou Reed or Iggy Pop?

Kurt Cobain, and even try Roger Waters without Pink Floyd....he had some good **** without the band, and lets face it, he was the true genius behind it all....

The misfits probably did have some impact, i think alot of bands out there credit them as an influence of some sort. Plus, all the skater kids wouldn't have any bands to rep on their tee shirts and hoodies.
Definitely agree that the casualties have no impact, besides being drunk and proud to be punk.
Yeah, Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop, Joy Division, and the Pixies got assraped on that list. I'd add the Slits too.

Hey what about David Gilmour he was a genius to.

What about The Kinks they were pretty vital. They wrote the first ever rock riff with 'You Really Got Me.'

Rock music was around long before the Kinks.
