it's definatley overhyped, and not even close to the best Beatles album, but Here Comes The Sun is the sh*t.

Is it just me or does Abbey Road suck?

I've never really seen why so many people regard it as well as they do... voted best Beatles album by MB????

But there is some good stuff on it, despite the inconsistency.

Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End is basically the best thing they ever recorded I guess.

I've never found it melancholy, just boring.

[QUOTE=Bronze Age;785275]I always preferred In Utero to Nevermind. Its so nasty, Nevermind is kinda soft. Anyway,

I never ever thought of Nevermind of being kinda soft! I also like Utero and after digging through the noise, elusive melodies and the rest of the sludge on the album, there are certainly a lot of good songs on there, BUT they`re certainly not 5 stars like Nevermind.

Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
Bob Dylan - Bringing it All Back Home
Johnny Cash - San Quentin
U2 - The Joshua Tree
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
Jimi Hendrix (Exp.) - Axis: Bold as Love
The Beatles - White Album
The Beatles - Sgt. Peppers
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
Led Zeppelin - 4
Morrissey - Vauxhall and I
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
John Coltrane - Giant Steps
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
The Pogues - If I Should Fall From Grace With God
Radiohead - OK Computer

those are probably the ones that score a complete 10/10 from me, every song is on my top/favourite/whatever you wanna call it list.

these come very close:

The Who - The Who Sings My Generation
The Who - The Who Sell Out
The Who - Quadrophenia (would be a 10/10 without all the useless quiet fillers that dont really fit in)
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Caravan
Eric Clapton - Slowhand
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over the Sea (yeah screw you)
Patti Smith - Radio Ethiopia
The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street
U2 - Achtung Baby
Rory Gallagher - Deuce

I've always loved that song myself. Goes to show that I must be insane

Abbey Road isn't the perfect album though. Not in my eyes anyway. The closest I think they came to that was Hard Day's Night, Rubber Soul or the Magical Mystery Tour, and even those are taken down a peg or two by the odd weak point.

I would also probably put Nevermind over In Utero just because, well, it's Nevermind although I probably listen to more things off In Utero than Nevermind most likely because of how often I used to listen to Nevermind.

I wouldn't really call Nevermind soft but I think it does sound a bit like power pop cleverly hidden under all of that distortion and angst.

And Tourette's is definitely not a bad song, Rape Me is probably my least favorite track on In Utero but that doesn't mean I don't like it.
