I'd give Poledo 5 stars It comes very unexpectedly out of nowhere, but fits into the album perfectly and I enjoy the lo-fi quiet ukelele (sp?) to noise changes a lot.
Oh, and how could I forget? cities vs. submarines EP by Railcars, the greatest EP ever released. I'm not sure if we're counting EPs or not, but this definitely goes on the list. This was a great idea for a thread because it made me realize how few albums I would actually consider to have all perfect songs. I really think the four I now listed are the only albums I've ever heard that I could say that about. |

Yeah, exactly what I said before. Even seeing all these great albums posted by others...I don't buy it. Many are close, and may be 5-star albums, but not every single song is 5 stars, even if I enjoy them a lot. I guess that's just us though, maybe we're more strict.

I'm really strict with my rating system...I've rated about 5k/6.5k of my songs, and only 40 are 5*. Pretty much a song has to have literally changed my life or my outlook on life in order to gain that status.

I really cant think of any albums where each individual song is equal to the album as a whole...where I can take every track out of context and feel like every one is a perfect 5 star song...I go thru my favorites and I can't find any
Siamese Dream has "Sweet Sweet", OK Computer has "Fitter Happier", Loveless has "Touched", In Utero has "Tourette's"...it just goes on... even the undisputed classics...Dark Side of the Moon? "On The Run", Sgt Pepper? "Good Morning"...these songs work in the context of the album, but on their own they clearly dont stand up as well as the others I don't think theres a single record where at least ONE track judged by itself isnt just a little less good than the others |

I retract a few albums I mentioned. After re-evaluating I find there are a few 4 star track. I still stand by The Shape Of Punk To Come though. It's the only album where I think I have really been in love at some point with each of the songs.
