I've always been under the impression that Doolittle was more universally accepted than Surfer Rosa but I guess that doesn't always make a 5 star album.
|
Remember also that there is a distinction between a five star album and an album filled with five star songs...

Here's a handful of albums I won't stop playing until they get to the end...
Motorhead - Overkill The Cure - Faith New York Dolls - S/T Primal Scream - XTRMNTR Iron Maiden - S/T Slayer - Reign In Blood Can - Ege Bamyasi Blur - Modern Life Is Rubbish Talking Heads - Fear Of Music Poison Idea - Feel the Darkness Thin Lizzy - Bad Reputation Napalm Death - From Enslavement To Obliteration Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality Pulp - His & Hers |
GY!BE-Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada. Kind of cheating being that it's only 2 songs, but they're both 5 stars without a shadow of a doubt.
|
^Amen to that.
Refused's The Shape Of Punk To Come is perfect from start to finish. Most albums I think might fit this criteria still have at least one 4 star song. |
Hmm... off the top of my head,
Faith No More -Angel Dust Drive-By Truckers - Southern Rock Opera Blackalicous - Blazing Arrow Iggy & The Stooges - Raw Power Been listening to This Nation's Saving Grace by The Fall a lot this past week and it's certainly looking like it could one day be in this group. |
