I enjoy about 99% of the CDs in my collection, since I usually try to hear at least
a couple of songs from new albums/bands before buying. However, I just hit two clunkers in a row: "Synthetica" by Metric--other than the first cut, "Artificial Nocturne", I didn't find a lot of catchy hooks as I had hoped, based on their previous release, "Fantasies." "Boys & Girls" by Alabama Shakes. I picked up the CD based on seeing them on a late night show and seeing the Youtube video for "Hold On"--but most of the rest of the CD left me a little disappointed. For some reason, the tunes weren't too memorable: needed more guitar solos! |
