Jhene Aiko: Soul'd Out

I loved her mixtape, which made me thought she's worth my money when the album was released but all the songs on the album sounded crappy. Better luck next time Jhene.

Yeah that's what I figured it'd be, more campy storytelling to a badass soundtrack. We'll see.

Ne Obliviscaris - Citadel (2014)

I think I'm starting to come off these highly polished, very technical progressive death metal albums in my old age. I don't know why I can listen to something like Light of Day, Day of Darkness by Green Carnation, or Blackwater Park by Opeth, time and time again and not be bothered by it, but there's just something about this band that doesn't click with me. It feels very manufactured, like some highly intelligent form of life looking at it and trying to replicate it, but without the soul that goes into creating art. The only thing I really enjoyed about it was that it wasn't an hour and 10 minutes like their last album.

Richie Kotzen - Cannibals (2015)

This album is so bland. So utterly lame. So meh it's almost unbelievable to be honest. I don't know if the guy has released any good music before this, but I have no interest in checking any of it out, or even finishing the album to be honest.

In Utero = Bleach > Incesticide = With the Lights Out > Nevermind

I like Bleach and In Utero pretty equally, and Incesticide and With the Lights Out are both collections of unreleased songs.
Only listened to and only have the 3 nirvana studio albums, and I agree. Bleach is my personal favourite but it's just as good as In Utero. Bleach and In Utero > Nevermind any day.

BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah - Sour Soul (2015)

I can't say I'm as disappointed as other people because I'm not a big Ghostface Killah fan so I was really just going into this for some more BBNG, but even they seemed to be on autopilot for this collaboration. I can definitely see people who had issues with BBNG's change in style with III being further disappointed and worried for the trio, and even though I enjoyed that album more than a lot of people, their stuff on here really sounds like it could have been done by anyone. The guest spots on here are probably the highlight of the album, and occasionally Ghostface Killah drops a sparse verse that showcases the talent people say he has, but it still doesn't make me want to go back and listen to his discography. It's also a pretty shockingly short album, clocking in at just over 30 minutes and I think could have benefited from a slightly longer runtime to give BBNG something to do.

I don't really like the new THEESatisfaction, which is a bummer because I've really enjoyed their output so far. Can't pinpoint why, it's just not hooking me like the others.

I'm not exactly a huge Aphex Twin fan, but I've liked a lot of his stuff before. However, this album is so meh. Nothing really goes anywhere and most of it feels like prime mashup/collaboration material, not stand alone tracks. Largely forgettable.

^ Agreed. I liked Druqks. One of my teachers got it me. But I turned this one off at track 6, didn't get it at all.
