I don't think he was challenging your opinion, just getting you to substantiate on it.

Lemme see...

Club 8's new album, Above the City really disappointed me, especially since their last album The People's Record was so good.

I thought the new Knife album, Seeking the Habitual was disappointing. Ditto for the Boards of Canada.

But great releases from Ghostpoet, April March and Aquaserge, and the National more than made up for the bad releases.

It's been a long time since someone didn't dig something.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Beyoncé - BEYONCÉ (2013)

There are elements of this album that I like at times: minimal production, her voice, quite ambitious.

But then you just get some rubbish. It's not nearly as instantly catchy as it would need to be if she wanted to just catch me on a casual basis, and it's not nearly as intriguing or unique for me to appreciate and grow to love.

It's just between both (considering the type of artist she is) and not quite getting me on either level enough.

Are you saying this as a person likes her older stuff or as a person who is checking this album out because of all the praise it's getting, like me?

I haven't heard it. I'm curious about it though.

I've heard it quite a few times and I think it's pretty bad. Granted I'm biased because it isn't my style of music, but it just doesn't hold my interest, and while there are a few interesting inclusions (that TED talk for one) it doesn't really make up for it.

Based off of his description of it. It sounds like he's a person that is just checking out this album because of the praise. He might like a few singles from the past but I don't think he's actually listened to a full album from her before. Just my opinion based off of what he has said.
