I could never be bothered with the Who Will Cut Our Hair album, but Return to the Sea I found listenable. I think they are the case of a group improving over time.

I know it's lo-fi, but it isn't punk. It's meant to have a good melody in the chorus I guess, and the guitars and percussion really take over the chorus with that repetive banging. It doesn't sound like it is giving the song energy but just drowning it out in a monotonous ostinato.

Could someone explain to me why the fuck I wrote that?
It's the second last track, before "Ready to Die". I completely forgot about that song It is also interesting that the first track is called "I Don't wanna die" and the last "Ready to Die". |
