I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Yeah ITAOTS is one of my favourite albums, but this one doesn't do anything for me. The songwriting isn't that bad(it's not that good either), but I really hate all the "random noise"(don't really know how else to describe it) between some of the songs and fuzziness gets SO old after a while.(I think it works on ITAOTS because it's only on a few songs.)

What exactly do you like about it? Idk, maybe you like it for all the reasons I hate it?(Other than my opinions about the songwriting.)

I just feel in general the songs are more accessible and straight-forward. Not that that's what I look for in music in any way. It just works better for me. There is random noise and the last track especially could be trimmed down, but overall it just clicks with me more. There are more highs than ITAOTS I guess.

Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma (2010)

Enough people have gushed over this album since May for me to at least take a look. After reading the Wiki on it and seeing it as a Electronic/ Experimental album I was intrigued enough to buy it. Upon listening to it all I could really hear was your typical snare/ bass drum beats in the foreground, with all the other interesting shit in the background. I figured this was just for a few songs, and with 17 to choose from it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it just seemed to repeat the same process in every song. It was like Flying Lotus just decided to get a basic drum beat down, hit the repeat button, and then knock off for lunch. After going back to the Wiki page to pull up some of the reviews I noticed that the track lengths advertised on Wikipedia were different than the track lengths on my Winamp, but only by 30-40 seconds or so, not enough to convince me that I should download a proper version. Cosmogramma seems to be the antithesis to Aydio's Nonentity which was full of life and a progression of sounds.

I too have been a little underwhelmed with the album. Funny enough I just got done playing it within the hour. I've had it since release and have probably played it nearly 10 times. I just don't "get" it like some people do, I guess. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike it and would never have posted it in this thread myself, I just feel it's lacking overall. The snares were really annoying me this morning though. I think there are just too many things like the snare that are in the foreground that should be more in the background. I appreciate the experimentation, but it needs smoothing out.

the only song i really like off the album is "and the world laughs with you", but it basically sounds like a radiohead song.

I actually like it a little bit more now. I really like Song Against Sex, Gardenhead/Leave me alone, baby for Pree and Naomi. But other than that it's just really underwhelming. I now consider it a slightly better than average album compared to before, where I considered it pretty awful. The songs do kind of grow on you after awhile.

Really? I really enjoyed this album. It's a very hard album to understand, though. It took me months to fully appreciate it.

Hmm...I think I'm going to download that thing to see what everyone is talking about, but I'm really glad I didn't buy it on vinyl. It was one of my possibilities yesterday while I was shopping. I don't know much about Flying Lotus, I just really liked the cover art.

I like that Flying Lotus album, but I don't think it's anything fantastic

Beck - Midnite Vultures

Probably my least favorite Beck album, and I've only listened to the first 5 tracks. I'm getting increasingly annoyed with each passing song.
