![]() ![]() C Duncan - Architect (2015) I was really looking forward to this album after reading about it and hearing a few singles. I was perhaps anticipating even more because it never showed up on Spotify or anywhere else I could easily check it out, and I always seem to want what I can't have more than the things I can have. Anyway, finally found a download and put it on while commuting this morning. It started off good but it soon all became a bit sappy. The final track was practically a lullaby. I may give it another shot in the future but for now, I'm disappointed.

Steven Wilson - Hand. Cannot. Erase (2015)
Eurgh. What a boring album this is. I don't get any joy from this kind of prog at all. Nothing particularly interesting happens, and it's just so fucking clean.

Found it strange that there wasn't a thread to talk about albums you've heard recently and didn't enjoy. There's a thread for albums that you are digging, why not one for those that you aren't?
Personally, I found the new Bloc Party album Hymns to be a total flop. Not sure why I expected anything else than that though, since the band has hit a serious decline since their first two albums.

![]() ![]() I'm a big Dream Theater fan, but this is bloated beyond imagination without the hooks and cool ideas that make all their best material such a joy. As a prog fan, even I recognize unnecessary excess. ![]()

With a cover like that it's not hard to imagine what music accompanies it. 2016 is turning out to be one the worst years of metal album covers.
