I'm not sure it was luck. With Mr.Banks it was a question of hanging around the Parker Meridian hotel in NYC back in October of 1986 until he showed up after the gigs at MSG. I had been a huge Genesis collector at the time and got some pretty rare stuff autographed. With Peter Hammill, I'd seen him numerous times back in the 80's/early 90's and he always hung around after the gigs to meet fans. My Czech friend got the interview with Colosseum but was afraid to do the actual interview because he thought his English wasn't up to par so he asked me to do it which was cool. That was a bit of luck, I guess.

I met Alex Band of The Calling last year in Richmond. He was so sweet. I also got to talk to him on the phone last week (a promo for the prerelease of his new album..) and he was totally the nicest guy ever!
LOL when I was still in highschool, my dad used to take my sister and I to Warped Tour, and this one year, he called us all excited because he had met Good Charlotte and talked to them about politics for a long time and got autographs. LOL my sister and I were looking at his autographs later and he had actually met Anti-Flag!! That was SO hilarious!! I think he just got the names mixed up because he knew both band's music quite well.... |
