New Burzum, Immolation, Temnozor and Nokturnal Mortum were the biggest ones for me so far and they've definitely delivered.

Still looking forward to releases from:
- Morbid Angel
- Iron Maiden
- Peste Noire
- Inquisition
- Sodom
- Stargazer
- Atheist
- Gorguts
- Lugubrum (?)
- Agalloch (?)

Yeah, anything that comes even close to the magic created on the first 7 records and I’ll be absolutely ecstatic, though if it can match the caliber of a BNW or DOD I’m sure I'll be a happy man as well.
‘The Legacy’ was a fairly epic way to close the album but I could never really get into A Matter… for some reason it just came across as a bit stale and uninspired sounding to me, especially by Maiden standards.

Holy ****, can hardly believe I’ve forgotten the new Blood Axis coming out at the end of the month!!!!
It’ll be the long awaited follow up to their first full-length album, “The Gospel of Inhumanity” an absolute milestone for ‘neofolk’/post-industrial music and an album that contains literature, samples etc. of everyone from Bach to Nietzsche to Ernst Jünger to Charles Manson.
These guys are definitely a powerful listen for anyone not afraid of something a little “different” in about every respect.
Have really been looking forward to this one, still can’t believe I forgot about it!

When is the Arcade Fire going to make anything new... they must be due for something this year.... and if this is so, I'd be greatly anticipating it!!!

Yup, there's definitely an album coming out this year. As far as i know it could be sometime during the summer. Hopefully it'll as good as Funeral and Neon Bible, fingers crossed.

Starting recording their album some time in 2010, cant wait to see what it will be liked. Do they still have that creativity and spark to make a brilliant album? I hope so

That'll be one of my most anticipated albums of this year then! I have absolutely fallen in love with Funeral and Neon Bible these past couple of weeks! I also hope they indeed csn produce something of the same quality!

anyone have any kind of news on the supposed QOTSA disc for later this year? i'm not seeing much of anything yet on their main sites. according to myspace they'll be in Europe in august (bastards).

according to a youtube interview the plan is to re-release the first self-titled QOTSA disc sometime this year and to tour it playing only those songs (though that last bit could easily be a lark). either way i've been looking and waiting on getting a copy of that disc since about 2002 (which was the last time i saw it for sale $30 ) and hearing rumours of a re-release since about 2004. someday....

also, Monster Magnet apparently went into the studio earlier this year for an upcoming summer release. i'm most definitely looking forward to that one.

Amon Tobin should be due for another album soon-ish as well, but some of the comments he made around the time 'the foley room' came out have me wondering if he'll actually bother, but according to his site IT'S ON!!!! (since january 19 at that)
