EPs that are really F*cking awesome
Show me them.
Here are a few I consider the band's best work. These Arms Are Snakes - This Is Meant To Hurt You Moderator cut: image removed Les Savy Fav - Rome (Written Upside Down)  Nine Inch Nails - Broken  Lymbyc Systym - Carved By Glaciers (initially released as a 5-track EP, it was recently re-released with 2 additional tracks - remixes - that I'm sure weaken the impact of the EP)

I'm Lonely (And I Love It) - Future Bible Heroes
 This EP is better than any of the full length albums I've heard from the Future Bible Heroes brand, just fully over the top with cheesy electronic dance music paired with the typical songwriting you'd expect from Merritt (which is by no means a complaint).. 'I'm as lonely as Mount Everest, and probably as high.' God love it.

Skinny Puppy - Remission
Their first official release from 1984. When released on CD, it came with a bunch of bonus tracks so I always thought it was an LP. I recently made myself a copy, trimming out the bonus tracks, to hear it as the EP it was intended to be.  Squarepusher - Budakhan Mindphone  Boards of Canada - Hi Scores  The Mars Volta - Tremulant

Zero EP - Smashing Pumpkins
I'm not much of a Pumpkins fan anymore, but I decided to keep this EP because it was just a real nice heavy rock sound that was missing from Mellon Collie. OK now that album did have some heavy songs, but for every heavy one you had 1.5 soft mellow ones that I found to be really boring. |
