Music in Movie Scenes
Ello's Tarantino thread made me think of other directors who integrate music masterfully into their movies. Danny Boyle, Richard Linklater, Scorsese... Music can enhance and alter visuals to a shocking degree sometimes.. Imagine "the shining" without all the spooky, ambient noises heard throughout the movie...not nearly as menacing.. Post some examples of movie scenes with music that you think greatly enhances the scene to epic levels!

All of these movies the music is great:

There is a scene in The Limits of Control where a woman with bright orange hair in white is walking in slow motion down the streets of Spain with an umbrella while Boris' "Farewell" is playing. I tried to find the video, but no luck. Good thread idea.

I just find it funny. That's all I can say really. |
All I can say is that Ferry Corsten's Rock Your Body is perfect for the moment. |
Haha, great stuff guys! Trainspotting, Human Traffic, love that record store scene! :D
Here's one of my favorite track/scene pair-ups. Couple more: |

Transformers: The Movie from 85 or was it 86 (?) is a great example of how you can tie in music with what happens in the story. There's hardly a moment in the film which is not accentuated by music. Here's an example, though you should skip about a minute in :
The song is "Dare" by Stan Bush .. Ah, to be a child of the 80s. :p: |
Though this is only the trailer, when this song is played in the movie it truly highlights the scene.
Song: Cat Stevens - If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out Movie: Harold & Maude |
Fits perfectly even though I'm not a huge Oasis fan. This is killer:
Typical David Lynch weirdness: This is how you end a godamn movie! Yes I do have this track :D Sublime. Classy New Order remix: I have tons more! |
Sublime.
GREAT PICK! Hands down the greatest sports movie ever. |
I wanted to add two very good scenes from the movie Blue Velvet.

"Movie": 'Roadhouse'-(at the end of the movie) Jeff Healy does his version of Bob Dylans 'When the night comes falling'. A great soundtrack! "Movie": 'Sugarhill'- Otis Redding's, One more day. "Movie": 'Man on fire'- (I cant remember the artist's last name), Carlos ??.-,song- 'Una Palabla'. (last song at the end of the movie when Denzel Washington is dying in the back of the car). Just so many fav's to name them all....

I could name so many scenes from The Big Lebowski. The first Jesus scene nailed it with the music. Also, the placement of Oye Como Va with them all eating fastfood after the Dude's car was wrecked has me chuckle every time.

The movie that just came out on Friday, 2012, here is the leading song-

I've always loved Jim walking through an isolated London at the start of 28 Days Later to East Hastings (Godspeed You! Black Emporer).
