Whats the worst CD you ever had

big head todd and the monsters- sister sweetly

i don't know how i got this CD, but every song seemed worst than the last to me, i rememeber taking it out of the CD player wondering how the hell it got into my collection, and wondering if i should take it to wal-mart and claim i lost my reciept to get paid on the off chance that i had actually spent money on that garbage.

so whats yours

Cool thread.

Crossfade - self titled
Earshot - letting go

I bought both albums because i liked one song on them. Both albums are terrible.

Stone Birds 10-28-2009 06:53 AM

Jars of Clay - self titled
i bought it cause someone recommended it to me, and because i like the song "Closer", so i thought this band was christian-electronica, it turned out it was just generic, boring, and plainly stupid worship music. but their new stuff actually has substance to it, so it's not the band itself it was just that album.

I was 8 years old and it was still the 90s. It was my first trip out of Lebanon, when I went to my cousins' in Canada. These people (my cousins I mean) have the worst taste ever imaginable.

Anyway, there was no cable or Internet in my country (or maybe just in a really expensive price) so it was the first time I was exposed to non-local music. I listened to my teenage cousin's music, so it was between the Spice Girls and every boys-band present at that time.

So from everything I listened to, The Backstreet Boys were the only thing I found bearable. Even now I listen to it (I don't know where I've put the CD, but the Backstreet Boys' songs in general) and feel a kind of nostalgia, lol.

Bane of your existence 10-28-2009 11:53 AM

Probably any of the Casualties cd's from my youth.

NSW 10-28-2009 11:55 AM

Pretty sure it was an old Ricky Marin CD...a spanish language one I think. Hell, I can't even remember. I bought it because my best friend was in love with him, and there was like one catchy song on it.

+81 10-28-2009 12:09 PM

Probably either that spanish Casualties album or We're Not Happy Until Your Not Happy by Reel Big Fish. I got it for the song 'The Fire' and nothing else was that great. There was also this really bro hard rock band my Grandma thought I would like. God bless her for trying.

Man, these guys ruled as an 8 year old  I can't get though that first track without smiling!

FETCHER. 10-28-2009 01:25 PM

Em, I never bought CD's as a child but I'm pretty sure I got ahold of a "Queer As Folk" cd, :yikes: it was awful when I remember the tracks. I was 7. I am excused.

Farfisa 10-28-2009 01:30 PM

Spice Girls' self-titled, what can I say?

gunnels 10-28-2009 02:55 PM

Either MCR's debut or Five Finger Death Punch's debut. I was in a scene phase. =\

I bought this when it first came out.
It remains in my collection as a reminder of what can happen to a persons music taste if you're not ever vigilant.

Gram Rabbit's Robotbeat and Radioangel. I don't know what happened to that band...
If all the little kid stuff counts, then the trophy goes to millennium by The Backstreet Boys.

Bought this from a record store (which was roughly around 4 miles from my apartment), put it in my CD player and started walking. Around halfway I turned around and sold it back to the record store for half of what I bought it for. I may have lost 5 bucks in the deal, but I didn't have to own that CD anymore which was more than enough to make me feel like I came out on top.

It was hard to even pretend I was gonna listen to it.

Lol... yeah I don't know if dollar store and tourist trap albums really count but I've received a couple as gifts before. I guess people know I like music... probably a bad thing when gift shopping.

Sneer 10-29-2009 10:41 AM

I think i was going through a world music phase at the time, needless to say i steered clear of stuff like Calypso after that. Shame because i love a bit of steelpan

I have to say I actually like that album quite a bit. One of the few good nu-metal albums IMHO.

got it for christmas a few years ago. the first track was great, but after that it turned into just straight generic thrash. and believe me, i've given it spins multiple times, but it just never did anything for me.

that and this gospel music album i got as a gift from my music school. it was the first and only time that i couldn't get through 4 songs of an album.
