I think so, it depends what area of music you are remembering! Mainstream wise it has gotten increasingly worse in comparison to previous decades but theres has always been plenty interesting bands/artists outside of the mainstream. Arcade Fire is a good example and more recentley A Place To Bury Strangers, to name but a few examples. I've always argued that there is always good music out there, you just have to look for it! The main issue is the lack of originality or proper musicianship in the mainstream. Bring on the 10s!
