Oh incidentally, I've heard of maybe 3-4 bands off that list. Thank Christ?

The Strokes

Take an band of average talent who wish it was 1978 fronted by a self important pretty boy, inject with a lethal dose of nepotism and questionable 'scene buzz'. Hype to high fucking heaven by plastering them over every useless 'style bible' type publication and hey presto, everybody buys your records.

yowza, I didn't think they were that bad. I mean, they have at least 1 song off every album I thought was pretty good

In terms of success vs. quality, I think they're pretty up there, along with the Libertines...and Snow Patrol...and Kanye....:/

Southern hip-hop has made this decade particularly hellish also, take your pick really

...ditto on it being the decade of banal indie/college rock/yuppie rock.

here's some things that I thought sucked(not necessarily any band in particular):

-Revival of some of the crappiest music of the 80's.
-classic rock/cheesy metal revivals
-too many gimmicks-screaming/emotional singing duos, dance-punk/new wave revival, auto-tune,
-selling out becoming no big deal

I agree with everything on the list except for Hard-Fi, the record I have isn't bad and the guy who wrote the list seemed to focus on their lack of cover art than music.

Nickleback lead that whole post-grunge thing and as unfortunate as it is helped keep hard rock music in the charts. Besides that they started in the 90s.
