The same things that are still wrong with their output.

I have to say this sentiment confuses me. They still sound like the same cheesy pop band they always have to me.

I'm with you, I was never a big Green Day fan. I keep hearing people say their new album was so much worse, but it seems to me that their new stuff is the same poprock as it ever was. I would think this would appeal to those who liked them in the 90s.
as for the list at the beginning of the thread, a lot of them I didn't know, but I feel like there's a worse band than the Jonas brothers. I hate them as much as the next person, but surely there's someone more loathsome out there? What about Nickelback? Limp Bizkit? Awful name aside, isn't their rendition of Behind Blue Eyes practically criminal?

I agree with you, particularly Nickelback is something I just can't listen to. However, those two are not bands from this decade.

So are we just like purposely avoiding the mention of brokeNCYDE, or are they just so universally agreed upon as bad, it would defeat the possible debate this topic can create?

As a side note, I'm aware it's over by now, but I would just like to say that in all likelihood, Arcade Fire is my favourite currently existing band. They're spectacular, in my opinion.

Never heard of them to tell the truth. They have a pretty dumb sounding name though, I'll give them that.

Actually, I just re-read through the thread, and there have been a couple of mentions. Go to page 6 or 7; one has a link to one of their songs that will make you think I feel you've wronged me in some way.

I always liked what NME said about their debut album: "even if I caught Prince Harry and Gary Glitter adorned in Nazi regalia defecating through my grandmother’s letterbox I would still consider making them listen to this album too severe a punishment."

Okay, you're right, that was definitely pretty bad. It's like everything I hate about pop rap and pop metal rolled into one retarded package. I guess this means Linkin Park has passed that mantle to the next generation.

So you don't hear a difference in the first 2 songs vs. the second 2?
