Really?

Don`t know what Krautrock albums you`re listening to then

reasons I go to their shows:
I can get stoned, drunk, lose consciousness, and I'm still not risking getting raped
chics have the best drugs
i can get amazing sex tips
and it's just fun.

And if you leave late enough, it's like a pron store. where you look, touch and not buy.
That sorta contradicts my first reason but it's all consentual so . .

Are you deaf?

Ege Bamyasi is practically a funk album

I was discribing Tago Mago when i was talking about Dissonance and Atonallity... And it had a bigger impact in the world of Kraut i believe.

Ege Banyasi is great, but it's a bit out of character for Can... It IS more rhythmic and melodic than Tago, but it's still full of random improvisitations... Ege is full of excessive soloing, especially from Karoli, Czukay and Schmidt.

I'm not saying Krautrock is worse than prog, just that i don't see how Kraut bands like Can are any less wanky than UK prog bands, who just had a little more skill, which apparantly makes them worse and not as hip i guess.

Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound and Lamb Lies Down On Broadway > Peter Gabriel I, II and III.

Anyway, Gabriel > All prog, Eno > All kraut, you say potato, i say potato... Whats the point in saying one artist is better than a whole genre?... In retaliation i guess, i just hope no one here is taking any of this seriously.

Tago Mago was a double album , there was bound to be some crap on it.

Personally I can listen improvisation as long as there is a solid base behind it I.E. the rhythm section.I don`t know why you think there is excessive soloing on Ege Bamyasi , I always though it`s possibly their most stripped down accessable album.I don`t really see it out of character either , I can hear that direction coming in their other albums , if anything i`d say Tago Mago was a departure from the norm.
Perhaps they don`t have as much talent as other prog bands, i`m not really bothered.Like I said , i`d much rather listen to something based on rhythm with a bit of improvisation rather than overlong meticulously planned orchestral peices or silly concept albums.

Not even on Pinch?

And concepts are like lyrics, they are secondary to me, i think King Crimson, Genesis and Jethro Tull all had great concepts, Yes had good ones too but they couldn't always live them out they way they wanted... Then theres ELP, their concepts are just random rubbish that they pieced together in 5 minutes... If a album has a good concept or it's about some old guy using the bathroom (or Armadillo Tank saving the world) i don't really care, the music is all that really matters... Though some people think the lyrical content is more important, but i don't read music magazines anymore for that reason.
