haha, wow there's lots to respond to. I'm not even going to touch on the beatles comment because that's already been beaten to death, but i'll coment on a few others.

"Around 95% of Bob Dylan`s output is boring rubbish"

I can see why you wouldn't like the actual music, some people do find it boring, and I'll admit his voice isn't the best. But if you don't see that he is one of the greatest lyricists of all time, then I'll find it really hard to respect your opinion on anything related to music.

"Led Zeppelin are ok for a fun blues based c0ck rock band , but to suggest they`re one of the greatest bands ever is laughable."

That's a pretty bold statement, and with not a lot to back it up. Jimmy Page is arguably one of the BEST guitarists of all time, and if you don't agree, then you don't know much about music. Not only did he have amazing technical ability, he was unbelieveably innovative. The rest of the band are extremely talented. If you can't see that led zeppelin is an amazingly talented band, then you simply don't know music.

all your other points are either dead on, or i have no real problem with.

OK I shall respond to those , as far as Bob Dylan goes I think he`s written some incredible songs , I just happen to think they are few & far between for someone who`s been around for almost 50 years.

I still stick to what I think of Led Zep , Don`t get me wrong I like the band but for someone who had possibly the best drummer & guitarist ever & someone like John Paul Jones who was arguably the most talented in the band as far as musical arranging & the number of instruments he could play , I just think they could have made music that was a lot more groundbreaking & original than what they did.

I wish Led Zeppelin was just a pure Grade A blues band, instead of being considered the pivotal ape in the evolutionary chart of heavy metal. There's no denying the talent, but I hope I never have to hear Stairway to Heaven for the rest of my life.

yeah I can see where you're coming from with dylan, but in his defense he was REALLY hopped up on drugs for the majority of his career, so for him to even be able to sit upright let alone compose and perform music in his state is pretty impressive. As for led zeppelin, I don't think it's really fair to judge a band on how good they SHOULD have been, because that's all speculation, with not a lot to go on. They did come up with some very original stuff, but I'll agree, they were by no means one of the most influential bands in history, far from it. They were an amazing band, and I'd say on of the greatest bands ever, but they definitely weren't hugely influential. Personally, I'd say the Beatles were one of the most influential bands in history, and I know you're going to disagree with me there, but that's old news.

Achillies Last Stand is far superior to Stairway To Heaven

No I totally agree with that. But I think that people put too much emphesis on them that say the Stones. I`d say that the Stones were to rock music what the Beatles were to pop , but because pop is more popular & more mainstream the Beatles get more credit.

I mean what are you more likely to see on a prime time TV show, some winner of some pop idol type show singing Yesterday , or some new rock band doing It`s Only Rock n Roll?

Lyrically, it's up there for sure, but I still like stairway. I think a lot of people have lost appreciating for the song because it's the most commonly known zep song, so a lot of people are tired of hearing it, and don't appreciate it as much as it deserves. As far as the actual musical aspect, it doesn't get better than dazed and confused, especially if you've seen the mind blowing solo on the DVD when page plays the guitar with a violin bow, which was truly epic, really the only word I can find to describe that is epic.

Yeah, but a lot of rock bands drew from the beatles, and not a lot of pop bands drew from the stones. I agree that the stones were a great band, but I don't think they were all that innovative or influential. They didn't contribute anything really new to the music scene, just went on with what other bands had already done, and although they did a good job, I wouldn't go as far as to call them innovative or influential.

I disagree with this , you can see the Stones influence everywhere as far as the look & the attitude goes. Most newer guitar bands that are around today owe a debt to the Stones.
