Bleh.... Of the Krautrock bunch... I only really like Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and Can... Though i think Can are overrated by some critics but thats just me... I like some Neu and Faust, but not a lot... Some Krautrock is too repetitive for me.... Especially bands like Birth Control, i really don't see whats so appealing about their music.
Eno > Krautrock anyway. Though i understand how important the movement is, any form of electronic music can go back to Krautrock, pretty much. |

I've seen Metallica live shortly after they released St. Anger. I hated ST. Anger but i loved watching them performing songs from that album live. And I'd see them live again if had the chance and I'd buy any future albums they make. I've seen Linkin Park live about 9 times. Mostly back whent hey first came out. At any rate, back then I loved their stuff. When they released Meteora I thought it was a crappy album and I still went to see them live and seeing them perform some of the songs from that album made me appreciate the actually CD more. And back then I still thought they were an ok (not necessarily great) band. I've seen Kittie live 4 four times now. I like their CDs but sometimes. . . Three of the four times I've seen them live, They were amazing. The other one time, I guess they were having an off day and they were just terrible. The crowd was half dead and I felt like I was about to pass out at any moment. Even after that I still remain a fan of theirs and I'd most likely go see them live again in the near future. And then there are some bands/musicians that just suck live but are popular. I've seen Snoop Dogg live twice and each time while he was on stage I was not listening to anything he was saying. That doesn't take a way from the fact that he's a really good rapper. That's just my two cent though

death metal is more then Cannibal Corpse, & 6 Feet Under, there ARE good death metal bands out there, past and present.
People that only listen to one or two bands in any given genere and dismiss the whole genre are lame |

Kittie annoy me to some extreme.
Nothing against feminists, but Kittie's whole "we're chicks, we can rawk, please take us seriously" persona gets on my nerves. |

I hope you're kidding.
A lot of Krautrock is pretty ambient and dissonant, there's technically little rhythm at all. A lot of Cans music consists of extended melodies over improvised polyrhythms, which dosen't make it different from much prog except for the dissonance between chords and atonal structure... In english, i find them to not to be any less wanky than other prog bands, maybe even more so, the songs are improvised in a way that it takes repeated listens to find any melody behind the noise, again i don't see how it's so much more melodic and rhythmic than any other kind of prog, really, i don't hear it.... Aumgn is one of the wankiest songs i have ever heard. But wank is a word most often used for anyone who can play more than 4 notes without screwing up, should be taken as a compliment. |
