To be totally fair, I've been the only one giving you "grief." Not my intention, it's just that I realize there's more to punk than just the Sex Pistols.

yeah this was way back in the thread I know, but I thought I'd bring up a point. Musical creativity and artistic creativity are two seperate things. Many bands don't have the money needed to hire a graphic designer to make inspired and original designs for their album covers. So in compromise, they get together, design something that they think looks cool, and otherwise have no clue how to convey an original and unique message visually. A lot of my friends are extremely talented lyricists and musicians, but ask them to convey the same messages or feelings they do in their music in a visual form and they'll be utterly lost.

Yeah but you don`t need money to be creative.

Look at the first Stone Roses album cover , a load of paint splattered around with a few orange slices for good measure.Totally original & something you`ll not likely forget ,done really cheaply.

The point i`m making is if you are in a band why would you make your album cover look exactly the same as a million other run of the mill bands.

Hate to sound rude here but will you just get over it! Just because you like the Sex Pistols a lot and think their bassist is hot as hell(which so many people do) doesn’t mean you can’t be a punk anymore or whatever the hell you’re worrying about just because a couple people on a music forum site are telling you they think they were overrated and their bassist sucked and their lead singer was a jackass. If they were one of the ‘most popular and contraversial’ bands ever on the scene then obviously a LOT of people like them as well, so if YOU like them then why the hell does it bother you so much that others don’t? Hate to break it to ya but as long as you listen to music there are gonna be those out there that will criticize your music and tell you it sucks. Accept it, and move on.

I wouldn`t worry , if it wasn`t that it would be something else.
You would not beleive the amount of crap I got when I first came here & just happened to mention I didn`t think Jeff Buckley was all that.
