I'm sorry but no one will ever fix any of it. Because it is the music industry and, just like any other industry there are the few big names at the top and a bunch of smaller stuff beneath. I know it's not right. I agree it's not right but, honestly, people avoiding major labels isn't fix anything.

Do you know the politics that come with a major label? It's ridiculous. You HAVE to spend a certian ammount on promotion. You HAVE to record by a certian time. You HAVE to have a safe, radio friendly single. They dictate too much. They turn art into too much of a business.

I already said I don't agree with Major label antics but, they're not going anywhere. And if they did disappear new ones would emerge. I think what Major labels do music is horrible. I hate it. But I'm not going to not buy an album from a band I love just because they're on a major label.

I think jazz, ska, hardcore punk, and anything of the orchestra or concert band sort have to be enjoyed live to be really enjoyed.

F*cking hell is this musicbanter or the Socialist Worker site?

Personally I don`t care what happens to my money once i`ve payed for something. It can go up some musicians nose , it could feed a family in Africa or it could go to buying some record execs 3rd mansion for all I care.

If major labels didn`t sign bands I like I wouldn`t give them money.
Most albums cost the same for both major and indie labels so why should I care which is which?

If you want people to stop buying from majors then tell the bands to stop signing for them , I don`t see why I should miss out on music I enjoy just because of how it`s released.

It`s called the 'music industry' so get the musicians to take some responsability.
