Just a quick reminder of what this thread is all about...
"Sick of people telling you what to think ? Bored of people telling you whats good ? Had enough of people flaming you because you don`t think the same? Well let it all out here , post any of your opinions that may be consdered 'against the grain' here , be controversial , be bold , don`t let people tell you your opinion is wrong. Stick to your guns & don`t be afraid to rustle a few feathers." Urban Hatemonger. Don't spoil it with petty name calling. |

Someone earlier said Emo wasn't a genre, but a trend. Emo isn't an opinion, it's a fact that Emo is a genre (and one that goes deeper than what's on MTV). |

Which is good, providing it's limited to debate and doesn't degenerate into mindless arguing. Got a problem with someones opinion on emo being a genre or not...back it up and educate them. |

the whole point of this thread is surely to say things that we all know are gonna piss everyone off?
anyway.. a few of my own opinions: 99% of all bands are ****e. this spans all genres equally. i dont beleive a person is a music fan unless they have spent time and effort into delving deep into various genres to find their ideal bands, as well as having a interest in exploring other genres. its impossible to dislike a whole genre, as its impossible to hear a whole genre. your comments about disliking trumpets is invalid as not all jazz uses trumpets... etc. the best music is whats being made today. how can it not be when it builds and expands on what was made in the past? the mp3 will lead to the death of music as an art form. aiding in this is the big 4 major labels who should not be given money at all costs. if you hear a song on the radio or on tv, its pop. genres are important and interesting. opinions cant be wrong when stated as opinions.. but when they are stated as fact they can justifiably be falsified. oh and Beat yr own KID is probably the most interesting poster ive seen on this forum.

because people wont care about it.... music will be reduced to 3 minutes snippits designed to keep the incresingly-easily-distracted kids happy while they sit in the car for 5 mins on their way to school.
albums are made as albums to be enjoyed in full quality, full concentration, with accompanying visual representation.. and the knowledge that you have paid for this pleasure and you physically own it - and you appreciate it. you wouldnt say you 'owned' or even properly seen a peice of art such as a painting, if all you had was a .jpg would you?

i explained above, and anyway... theyre all my opinions formed in my unarguably biased and opinionated mind, and thats what this thread was for? i dont expect people to understant my thoughts on music anyway, as few understand my taste. cant say i understand any body elses either but there you go.

Besides that, whose to say artists won't start making albums differently, then? Quote:
